Christmas in Florida

Here is Richard playing guitar with a member of his ward. He still gets the chance to occasionally brush-up on his guitar playing. Here he is in Key Biscayne. It's hard for him to imagine it's Christmas with 80 degree weather. Although the winters are pretty good in his native California, it's nothing like Florida.

Just before Christmas, Richard was transferred to the Coral Reef area of South Miami. He really likes it there. Can you believe he's been out for 6 months? Sometimes it seeems like it's going by quickly, and other times it seems to be taking for ever!

We got to talk to him on the phone on Christmas Day. It was so great to hear his voice. He is doing so well and has such a great attitude about missionary work. It was a difficult Christmas without him, but in his letter he said that we would have lots more Christmas' together. He is enjoying the spirit of Christmas by spending it in the Lord's service.

He had so much to say that he just goes from one thing to the next you really have to pay attention. But that's Richard.

Richard's first baptism

Just before he left the Fountainbleau area of Miami, Richard baptized the young Joselito. (shown here) Richard said that teaching him was a great experience and that he was obviously prepared by the Spirit to recognize the truthfulness of the gospel when he heard it.
